Apply multiple discount codes or sales in sequence
What is a Discount Calculator?
A discount calculator is a powerful tool that helps you quickly determine sale prices, savings amounts, and discount percentages.
Whether you’re shopping online, managing inventory, or planning promotions, this calculator removes the guesswork from pricing decisions.
It’s perfect for customers wanting to verify deals and business owners optimizing their pricing strategies.
How to Use This Discount Calculator
Tab 1 (Original + Discount %): Enter the original price and discount percentage to instantly see the sale price and total savings.
Tab 2 (Original + Sale Price): If you know both the original and sale prices, use this tab to calculate the discount percentage applied.
Tab 3 (Final + Discount %): Working backwards? Enter the final price and discount percentage to find the original cost.
Stack Discounts: Apply multiple discounts in sequence (like a 10% coupon on top of a 20% sale) to see the cumulative savings.
Choose your preferred currency symbol at the top, and all calculations update in real-time as you type.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between discount and markup?
A discount reduces the price below the original (e.g., 20% off $100 = $80).
A markup increases the price above the cost (e.g., 20% markup on $80 = $96).
This calculator focuses on discounts, but Tab 2 shows markup if the sale price is higher than original.
Can I apply multiple discounts at once?
Yes! Use the “Stack Multiple Discounts” section. Enter your starting price and add as many discounts as you need.
Each discount applies to the result of the previous one, giving you the true final price after all reductions.
What if the sale price is higher than the original?
If the sale price exceeds the original in Tab 2, the calculator will show a negative discount (i.e., a markup).
This is useful for tracking price increases or comparing pricing across seasons.
Why do stacked discounts give a different result than adding them together?
Discounts are multiplicative, not additive. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount doesn’t equal 30% off.
Instead: after 20% off, apply 10% to the new price. This calculator correctly shows the true cumulative savings.
Can I use decimal percentages like 5.5%?
Absolutely! All fields accept decimal values. Enter 5.5, 12.75, or any precision you need.
The calculator handles fractional discounts for precise pricing.
