How does the age calculator handle leap years?
The calculator uses proper calendar-aware date arithmetic. When computing months and days, it accounts for February having 28 or 29 days depending on whether the year is a leap year. The total days calculation uses the exact millisecond difference between two dates, so it's always precise regardless of leap years.
Can I calculate the age of someone born before 1900?
Yes. The calculator works with any valid date your browser supports in the date input field. For very historical dates, you can type the year directly into the date field. The math remains accurate for any date in the Gregorian calendar.
Why might my age show differently in different countries?
Most Western countries count age as the number of fully completed years since birth. Some East Asian cultures traditionally count age differently (adding 1 at birth, or adding 1 at the new year). How is the next birthday countdown calculated?
