QR Code Generator
Generate QR codes from text, URLs, WiFi credentials or contact info instantly.
What Is a QR Code Generator?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that smartphones and scanners can read in an instant. Our free QR Code Generator lets you encode any content — a website link, plain text, WiFi login details, or a full vCard contact — into a scannable image you can share or print immediately. All processing happens entirely in your browser, so no data is ever sent to a server.
How to Use This Tool
Generating a QR code takes just a few seconds:
- Pick an input type — Text/URL, WiFi credentials, or a vCard contact.
- Fill in your content — Type a URL, enter network details, or complete the contact fields.
- Adjust options — Choose error correction level (L/M/Q/H), output size (128–512 px), and custom dark/light colors.

Frequently Asked Questions
What error correction level should I choose?
For most uses, M (Medium) is a great default — it restores up to 15% of damaged data and keeps the QR code reasonably compact. Use H (High) when you plan to add a logo over the code or print it in environments where it may get dirty or partially obscured.
Is there a limit to how much text I can encode?
QR codes support up to about 4,296 alphanumeric characters. The more content you encode, the denser the pattern becomes and the harder it is to scan. For very long URLs, consider using a URL shortener first, then generate the QR code from the shortened link.
How do I create a WiFi QR code?
Switch to the WiFi tab, enter your network name (SSID), password, and security type. Click Generate and the tool encodes the credentials in the standard WIFI:S:…;T:…;P:…;; format recognized by both Android and iOS camera apps.
Can I customize the colors of my QR code?
Yes! Use the Dark color and Light color pickers to choose any colors you like. Just make sure there is sufficient contrast between the two — low contrast can make the code difficult or impossible for scanners to read.
Is my data private?
Completely. This tool runs 100% client-side using JavaScript in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted to any server. Your text, passwords, and contact details never leave your device.
What size should I use for printing?
For digital use, 256 px is sufficient. For printing on business cards or flyers, choose 512 px for sharper output at higher DPI. If you need very large prints, generate at 512 px and scale up in a vector editor for best results.
